LONGi Green Energy Technology, the largest monocrystalline silicon chip manufacturer, has signed a new agreement to build a 20-GW silicon chip no-product plant in Chuxong, Yunnan province, China, in addition to its existing plants in Yinchuan, Zhongning, Wuxi, Baoshan, Lijiang and Malaysia, raising its current silicon chip capacity, which exceeded 28GW in 2018, to about 45GW by the end of 2020.

It is worth mentioning here that the total consumption of silicon chips in the solar market in 2019 amounted to 120 GW, equivalent to 2.5 billion silicon chips. Lungi had the lion’s share with a market share of nearly 25% and consumed more than 6000 tons of silicon raw
