Trina Solar’s Vertex Modules Lead the Industry into the 500 W+ Era

•2 min read

Chinese industry giant Trina Solar has shipped the first batch of its new Fairtex series panels. These panels have a conversion efficiency of up to 21 percent, with capacity exceeding 500 W. With this shipment, Trina Solar sets a new standard for the global solar panel industry after the company announced 12 days ago the trial line for the mass production of Fairtex panels.

The panels will be used in Sri Lanka’s first 10-megawatt plant and will be installed upon arrival and are expected to be fully connected to the main network during the third quarter of this year.

Vertex panels use high-efficiency cells with dimensions of the largest in the world 210 mm in 210 mm, known as the M12, where they are cut according to the latest cutting technologies laser to three small cells and then connected and stacked very carefully to get the highest utilization of space any high-density packaging.

These panels also come as paychal panels (double-glass), contributing extra energy when absorbing radiation from the back surface. According to data from China’s leading national laboratory in solar energy science and technology located within Trina itself, comparing the traditional 410W paychal panels (double-glass) to the cost of 410W in Heilongjiang Province, China, the paychal panels can be reduced by a ratio of 6W.

“Our customers around the world have shown strong interest in the Vertex 500W panels, which are suitable not only for utility-scale solar power plants but also for commercial and industrial solar projects. We plan to continue shipping more units of the Vertex series to customers around the world. The era of 500W power production is here, and high efficiency and high capacity Vertex panels play a crucial role.”
