Eindhoven (Netherlands), Jenk (Belgium) – TNO, IMEC, Eindhoven University of Technology and Soliance demonstrated a miniature solar panel produced using industrial technology that passed three standard tests in solar power: photolysis tests, performance at high temperatures and humidity, and thermal cycling test for conductor tolerance. This is the first time that this achievement has been traversed with relatively cheap and highly efficient perovskite solar panels. These panels can be made either rigid or flexible as well as non-transparent or semi-transparent allowing many applications as integrated into windows, tiles, facades, roads, noise barriers, and car roofs. In addition, these solar cells can be made on conventional CIGS or silicon cells and raise the overall efficiency to new standard values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is worth mentioning that the first generation of these cells has not been stable and their efficiency decreases within minutes, so this is an achievement and a step in the direction of their entry into the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The perovskite panels were prepared on glass chips using industrial techniques and with a unit area of 100 square centimeters. The initial performance of these panels was higher than 10%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applicable stress tests include 1000 hours of continuous lighting with an intensity equivalent to standard sunlight; also 1000 hours of exposure to high humidity (relativistic humidity of 85%) with exposure to 85 C (wet heat test); 50 thermal cycles of -40 C to 85 C (thermal cycle test). The performance of the perovskite unit has retained 95% of its initial performance, thus within the limits of the standard efficiency loss. These encouraging results place the optical energy technology of the perfor thin films of this target.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
