{"id":575,"date":"2026-06-24T05:20:34","date_gmt":"2026-06-24T02:20:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/yemen-solar.com\/?p=575"},"modified":"2026-06-24T05:20:34","modified_gmt":"2026-06-24T02:20:34","slug":"longi-makes-new-progress-on-its-12-5-gw-bc-cell-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yemen-solar.com\/?p=575","title":{"rendered":"LONGi Makes New Progress on Its 12.5 GW BC Cell Project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>China \u2013 June 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3 wp-block-paragraph\">LONGi Green Energy has announced significant progress in its project to produce high-efficiency solar cells with <strong>BC (Back Contact)<\/strong> In Xixian New Area, Shaanxi Province, China, after the publication of the notice of completion of the environmental acceptance procedures for the first phase of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3 wp-block-paragraph\">The total investment in the project is approximately <strong>1.248 billion Chinese yuan<\/strong> (equivalent to about US$174 million), and aims to establish an annual production capacity of up to <strong>12.5 GW of high-efficiency BC cells<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Run the first 6.25 GW<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3 wp-block-paragraph\">The project is being implemented in phases, where the company has already successfully completed and operated <strong>6.25 GW of production capacity<\/strong> Within the first phase, the project aims to reach full capacity of 12.5 GW during subsequent phases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3 wp-block-paragraph\">The production lines and supporting equipment were installed inside a dedicated plant in Jinghe New Area, becoming one of the company\u2019s most important BC cell production centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Quick timetable for implementation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>December 2024:<\/strong> Completion of the environmental impact assessment report.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>January 23, 2025:<\/strong> Obtaining the official approval of the project.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>January 2025:<\/strong> Start of construction work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>May 2025:<\/strong> Completion of construction and commissioning of the first phase with a capacity of 6.25 GW.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>June 19, 2025:<\/strong> Obtaining the Environmental Emissions Drainage Permit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>September 2025:<\/strong> Adoption and official registration of the Environmental Emergency Response Plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Supporting LONGi&#8217;s BackContact Strategy<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3 wp-block-paragraph\">This project marks a new step in Lungi\u2019s strategy to shift towards technology <strong>Cells with back-contact (BC)<\/strong>which the company considers to be the next generation of high-efficiency solar cells after traditional TOPCon technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3 wp-block-paragraph\">As the project is completed, LONGi will add <strong>12.5 GW of BC cell production capacity per year<\/strong>This strengthens its global position in the BakeContact technology race and confirms the continuation of huge investments in this technical path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p4 wp-block-paragraph\">In the opinion of observers, the completion and operation <strong>6.25 GW in just a few months<\/strong> It reflects the acceleration of the industrial transformation towards BC technologies, which are beginning to move from niche products to mass production on a global commercial scale.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>China \u2013 June 2026 LONGi Green Energy has announced significant progress in its project to produce high-efficiency solar cells with BC (Back [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_coblocks_attr":"","_coblocks_dimensions":"","_coblocks_responsive_height":"","_coblocks_accordion_ie_support":"","_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-575","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.6.1 -
